MODEL IT
Learn the fundamentals of 3D modelling and create an avatar to be 3D printed.
As digital technologies increase in sophistication, the boundaries between the digital and ‘real’ worlds grow increasingly thin. Digital environments, character creation and avatars, and simulated experiences all invite users to let go and explore the possibilities of living in a second world. What does this mean for the future of digital industries?
In this unit, students will explore the emerging worlds offered by immersive digital environments, and act as digital artists to craft avatars that might navigate these virtual spaces. Using Fusion 360, or Tinkercad, students will work through a quick tutorial to learn the basics before being set free to craft a digital likeness.
Digital avatars are available to be 3D printed and posted to you (at no charge) after your engagement.
