Science Gallery Melbourne’s dynamic programs and peer-to-peer learning uses the intersection of art and science to motivate and inspire. We put young people at the heart of our practice, process and values. We aim to be genuinely engaged, and reflect the voices, concerns and language of young people from a diversity of backgrounds. If you’ve been to one of our exhibitions, you’ll know we are true to our word and if you haven’t, we’ll see you soon.
STEM qualifications combined with creative and problem-solving skills are essential to Australia’s productivity, innovation and success; plus the sciences harness endless creative possibilities. 75% of jobs in the future workforce will require STEM skills however young people, especially girls, are opting out of STEM based subjects such as mathematics. We want to change that.

With the support of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, five finance/accounting and five animation students collaborated to create animations in response to the exhibition, BREAK THE BINARIES. The short animations they created were then showcased in our award-winning Digital Bricks.
A cross-disciplinary team of University of Melbourne students overcame challenges and discovered new passions while developing a role-playing strategy game to extend the Science Gallery experience. This innovative project was made possible through funding from Chartered Accountants ANZ.
