Students are invited to be immersed in MENTAL, the inaugural exhibition at Science Gallery Melbourne. MENTAL is a welcoming place to confront societal bias and stereotypes about mental health, and for students to explore what it means to be human using science, technology and creativity. Get a sneak peek of the MENTAL exhibition.

Teachers are supported with resources to extend the student experience. A multimedia resource pack provides insight into exhibition themes, links to lectures, scientist and artist interviews, research, and curriculum-linked activities to undertake while on the self-directed visit.

Content warning: This exhibition contains some intense sensory experiences, confined spaces and lived experience of mental health.

+ Students will…

Students embark on a self-directed tour of the MENTAL exhibition which includes 21 interactive art/science exhibitions focusing on the themes of connection, agency, reflection and polyphony of experience.

Teachers are supported with resources containing curriculum-linked activities and discussion topics to extend and tailor the student experience.

A visit to MENTAL could involve curriculum links to the following learning areas and capabilities (see resource for more detail).

A $50 education service fee applies for groups of 15-50 students, free for groups with less than 15 students. All prices are inclusive of GST.
