Make it Work
Learn and apply a Design Thinking approach to solve a community issue.
While Design Thinking sits at the centre of everything we do whenever we solve a problem, it’s great to step back once in a while to take it all in.
Students will work with Facilitators to unpack what Design Thinking really means, why big companies like Google are waving the design thinking flag, and how they can use this elegant approach to problem solving in their own lives and studies. And they do this while actually participating in a design sprint challenging them to respond to a prompt based in either one of our amazing exhibitions, other modules, or in an area of study they’re investigating back at school.
From a video game that helps spread positive mental health experiences, or a community shelter helping to address homelessness, to solving global hunger… it’s all on the table.
Tackle this in a single module for those students who just need a refresher. But for students to really get the most out of this module, we recommend at least two sessions. Or spread the fun across a term as an ongoing project for your students.

Honestly, anything.
While this module can be run as a completely self-contained project, it’s made even better by taking on the themes and knowledge of any of our other tours, modules, or even the units that your students are exploring in your subject back at school. If you’re looking for recommendations though, we would suggest using one of our MENTAL, SWARM or Emu Sky tours as a jumping off point.
