What if we could use plastics that don’t pollute? This hands-on workshop is a chance to reimagine plastic – without the old-school, planet-harming petrochemicals!

Join artist and designer Jessie French from OTHER MATTER to explore the future of environmentally responsible material design. As designers globally seek solutions to plastic pollution, Jessie's work stands out by experimenting with plastics made from sustainable and renewable polymers, challenging our reliance on petrochemicals.

In this interactive session, you’ll work with these unique materials—cutting, sewing, and shaping them into a unique small object or vessel to take home. As you craft, you’ll engage in conversation about the role of design in sustainability and discover how these materials could be used in everyday life.

Sewing materials will be supplied, with needles and scissors used during the session. Suitable for ages 10 and above.

Step into the future of design, experiment with groundbreaking materials, and leave with not just a keepsake, but a fresh perspective on sustainability.

SESSIONS

  • Workshop 1: 1–2pm

  • Workshop 2: 3–4pm

Free, limited spaces – bookings encouraged.
