The Multiverse Awaits

Join Sista Zai for an interactive performance of poetry, song and storytelling in response to Distorted Constellations.

Distorted Constellations by Nwando Ebizie (UK) in Science Gallery Melbourne's MENTAL, (Alan Weedon, 2021)

We are all wired differently, thank goodness! Our unique life experiences lead us all to experience and navigate the world in our own particular way. Welcome to the Multiverse.

When we step outside of our experience of reality, can we activate our curiosity about how another experiences the world? Let’s use the MENTAL exhibition as our group learning/unlearning canvas.

With Sista Zai Zanda as your guide, we invite you to become aware of and expand your comfort zone.

Sista Zai has developed a creative response to Nwando Ebizie’s Distorted Constellations. Via Sista Zai’s interactive performance of poetry, song and storytelling, we will enter another perceptual reality. We encourage you to participate to the extent that you feel comfortable.

There will be call and response poetry accompanied by background music and visuals, body percussion and singing or vocalization. You will also be invited to offer your own responses to Sista Zai’s storytelling, if you feel comfortable speaking up in the group.

Bring yourself, be present. This is an introduction to yourself and to those beside you.

You will be invited to see the exhibit at the end of the session.
