MENTAL - Agency and Collaboration Towards a Better Future

  • Science Gallery Melbourne The University of Melbourne, Parkville, VIC, 3010 Australia (map)

How can we shift the conversation around mental health?

Part exhibition, part experiment, MENTAL is a welcoming place to confront societal bias and stereotypes around mental health. Join this special session to hear about the development of the show from Head of Curatorial, Tilly Boleyn, accompanied by a highlights tour of select works from Bern Hall, Lead Mediator at Science Gallery.

MENTAL presents over 20 experimental projects from local and international artists and research collaborators that reflect a range of different perspectives on mental health and ways of being. Curated in collaboration with a team of young people, with input from experts and academics across the sciences and creative arts, lived experience has been centred as expertise in navigating a theme that matters more than ever. Touching on key themes of the show– connection, agency, reflection, polyphony– the tour will cover ways collaboration could create a better and healthier future.

Will your perspective be shifted about yourself and others? Head inside to celebrate the diversity of experiences, approaches and connections.
