Psyche X Mental: Frame of Mind

During lockdown, we’re stuck inside our heads just as much as our houses. But imagination knows no confines. If you're aged 15 to 28, pick up your camera and submit a picture that speaks to how you really feel. Applications close February 28!

Science Gallery Bengaluru and Science Gallery Melbourne invite you to respond to one or more prompts for a chance to feature on Science Gallery Bengaluru and Melbourne’s websites as part of their exhibitions PSYCHE and MENTAL. Selected participants will have the opportunity to discuss their work in a one-off mentorship session in April 2022.

The prompts you can respond to include;

  • Numb

  • Euphoria

  • Altered

  • Fragile

  • Desire

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

  1. You must be between 15 and 28 years of age to participate.

  2. Submit your response by 11.59pm IST/AEDT on 28 February 2022.

  3. You can submit upto three responses per person.

  4. Your submission can be 1-3 photographs OR GIFs.

  5. The size of your file should be between 1 MB to 5 MB.

  6. The photo/GIF has to be made by the person making the submission.

  7. Your submission should not have won or placed in other competitions, or have been published in an official capacity in other magazines, exhibitions, etc.

  8. Your submission must have a text-based description/caption of between 50-150 words in in English. If you’re submitting in any other language apart from English, please add a translation in English.

  9. Your submission must have a brief bio of between 50-150 words in any language along with translation in English.

  10. You must have prior consent to use the photo/gif of the person/people you have photographed for this purpose. Any copyright violations or issues with permission will disqualify your entry.

  11. By submitting photos/clips of children you expressly agree that you have secured permission from the child’s parent or guardian.

  12. Any conflicts/ issues/violations arising out of sharing of the photo will be the liability of the photographer and the subject. The organisers are not liable to any dispute arising out of the submission.

  13. Photos/Gifs must not contain any nudity or any derogatory, racist commentary or visuals. Such entries will not be considered.

  14. You retain all the rights to your work. By submitting your work, you will give Science Gallery Bengaluru and Science Gallery Melbourne the permission to use your submission during PSYCHE and MENTAL. Your submission will be archived on the Science Gallery Bengaluru, and Melbourne’s websites.
