Friday Night Social: Student Edition

  • Science Gallery Melbourne The University of Melbourne Parkville, VIC, 3010 Australia (map)

Enjoy a free party showcasing the newest contemporary works by musicians, animators, actors and students from across the University, plus a late night viewing of SCI-FI: Mythologies Transformed.

SCI-FI: Mythologies Transformed  stays open late for a free party created together with student artists from across the University.

Immerse yourself in live music from the next generation of musicians and composers, short films from animators and actors working with cutting edge virtual production technology and an interactive showcase of the future of design and engineering.

Enjoy a DJ set from Huntress in the Foyer.

Witness a ritualistic reimagining of new works by Interactive Composition students from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music and Victorian College of the Arts in the Theatre. Reflect on how the stories we choose to tell now and the voices we empower in art and fiction today actively shape our futures.

Don’t miss the showreel of work subverting traditional mythologies and science fiction stories by the first and second year Bachelor of Fine Art (Animation) students and alumni in the STEM Centre.

All across the gallery, there will be plenty of space to socialise with friends and a raffle with great prizes.
