What digital future are we willing to submit to?
Originality is collapsing in the age of AI and it’s impossible to tell what’s real. Inspired by the idea of ‘mean images’, coined by Hito Steyerl, today’s digital landscape is a streaming torrent of slop content. Feel the tension between god-like technological power and human complacency as you experience a tapestry of stolen sound and image that dredges the mediocrity of the internet. Machine learning, endless scrolling and environmental collapse form a reflection of how we feed – and are fed by – the algorithm. In this hallucination, nothing is sacred and everything is derivative. In the noise of repetition, a strange kind of truth emerges.
How does it feel to be consumed by a machine we built?
