STUDENT ARCADE

STEM Centre of Excellence Partner Schools

How do games encourage playful learning?

Pick a station and get ready to hit play on these games made by students. As part of Science Gallery Melbourne’s STEM Centre of Excellence, high school students have explored digital technologies to create playable arcade games for the public. In the program, ‘Access Code’, students explore the Australian games industry and learn how to create interactive arcade-style games using MakeCode Arcade. Put your button-mashing skills to the test and press start.

What video game would you make?

BIOGRAPHY

Delivered in partnership with the University of Melbourne and the Victorian Government, the STEM Centre of Excellence at Science Gallery Melbourne investigates the collision of art and science. Embracing scientific and artistic inquiry alike, the programs, designed in collaboration with and for young people, foster development of transferable future-focused skills and explore design thinking through a creative lens.
