WE ARE ALL HEROES

Dylan Mooney

Do you see yourself reflected in today's superheroes?

Not all heroes wear capes. Throughout the gallery a series of First Nations, Blak, Queer characters provide an antidote to the depiction of heroes commonly celebrated. These heroes get strength and pride from who they are and their culture. Look inward and consider how your uniqueness can make you a hero.

Mooney’s reimagined heroes reflect the resilience, innovation, and empowerment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Representing first-nation cultures within today’s popular culture is pivotal in the preservation of Indigenous knowledges – how can we continue to elevate and champion the stories that remain untold and unheard?

What will you use your superpowers for?
